POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION STATEMENT
Ensure customer care service

General responsibilities and duties
 Cash handling in the SACCOS
 Promotion of the SACCOS

Specific duties
 Cash receive  and deposits
 Ensure prompt quality services to the members
 Promote SACCOS members and services
 Educate SACCOS members on the SACCCO by laws, Cooperative Society Act and Rules
 Recruitment of SACCOS members
 Ensure that the sorting of cash in the cash drawers (counters) is done according to the sorting policy
 Check that the deposit and withdrawal slips are filled in properly date, receipt numbers and properly signed and authorizations are obtained
 Perform any other task  and duty assigned by the SACCOS Manager

Person Description/Specification
Education
Diploma in Accounting and Finance, or certificate in accounting and finance,  or A-level with pass in Mathematics.
Experience
At least one year in cash handling
Key competence
 Numeric
 Accuracy in operations
 Computer literacy

About the Job: 
FINCA International is seeking a Teller. S/he will be responsible for operating a teller window to serve clients. S/he will report to back office supervisor/branch accountant/branch manager.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

• Operate a teller window to serve clients;
• Receive cash deposits of loan repayments and disburse/recap cash;
• Verify cash received/paid;
• Offload cash from till;
• Daily cash balancing;
• Cash deposit with a commercial bank;
• Generate reports;
• Report cash differences;
• Receive cash in form of savings deposits, loan repayments, and any other fees or charges related to loans;
• Pay cash through recaps to groups;
• Thoroughly verify cash in the physical presence of the other party/customer/back office supervisor/other teller (note by note and coin by coin) and where doubts exist inform concerned;
• Loan repayments to be received across the counter and update the transactions instantly on the village bank group or individual client loan account.

Qualifications: 

• Diploma from a recognized institution is a must;
• Must be computer literate;
• Accuracy is absolutely essential–when dealing with money and computers;
• Comfortable handling large amounts of cash;
• Maturity, tact, and the ability to quickly explain procedures and services are important in helping clients complete transactions.
