ICT SUPPORT OFFICER , Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB)


Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self motivated and highly organized ICT Support Officer (1 position) to join the Technology and Operations team. The work station is Dar es Salaam.

Reporting Line: Chief Manager Application Support and Operations
Locations: Dar es salaam
Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-

Assist to maintain dynamic Network and its hardware configuration database by collecting, adding, removing or updating approved configuration unit changes (PCs, Printers, Servers, modems, wireless terminals, etc.) and maintaining documentation of new and existing network infrastructure.

Assist maintenance of data centre resources as a result of reducing server risk by identifying, quantifying, documenting and escalating issues that may lead to Data centre non-availability.

Support working with vendors, service providers and other technology groups to resolve problems;

Provide support to Help-Desk and other support officers on LAN/WAN, servers, PCs, printers, scanners, availability calls.

Providing the support for domain administration tasks as required by the bank’s security policies, performance requirements and industrial best practices.

Assist and support of appropriate server backup methodologies and technologies.

Participate in ensuring high availability of production IBM infrastructure and servers by direct use of and implementation of various IBM technologies and supporting methodologies.

To assist in the development and implementation of system policies, procedures, standards and controls to ensure data accuracy and security that they comply with the legal and regulatory requirements.

To ensure that TPB ICT complies with existing ICT-Policies, procedures and processes requirements and embed Risk Management principles within its operations.

Work with other Directorates and section within ICT to facilitate preparation and simulation of disaster recovery action plan for Business Continuity on hardware, software and networks’ availability as well as other systems that depend on them.

To provide adequate support in the maintenance of the network infrastructure.

To support routine ICT tasks including Night Processing, systems’ users access administration, regular ICT maintenance services and Standby Support.

Assist in maintaining and providing support to the DRS systems that are operational and available.
Assist in implementation and support of power systems to make sure that the data centre and DRS system can be supported by the power standby system (UPS) within a certain time period which allows graceful shutdown of servers and peripherals to avoid damages during power outages.

Assist in implementation and support of security systems at both data centres and branches these include CCTV, intruder alarms, access controllers physically and logically, should assure that at all times they are working and provides reports when needed.

Contribute to Risk (fraud) identification and mitigation methods by following Risk and ICT standards and practices for risk management
Recommend ICT cost reduction strategies by analysing IT service cost structures.

To provide training to staff in use of network services, e-mail, internet, VoIP and other administrative systems.

To do any other job as may be assigned from time to time.

Mitigation of critical risks such as failure of business continuity, security bleach, virus outbreak and infrastructure support

Time preparations and submission of all appropriate reports A higher performing division

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology and Telecommunication .

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in ICT field, sold experience in network systems installation, configuration and support
Experience of working with Linus/UNIX, MS-Windows Servers and workstations environments and office automation applications
Added skills and certifications MCSE and Linux, CCNA skills/Attributes
Strong leadership and people management skills
Strong technical skills in hardware and software
Prioritize tasks and organization
Can work independent at minimal supervision
Adherence to the regulations and company policies
Team player.

BANKING OPERATIONS OFFICER , Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB)


Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Banking Operations Officer (1 position) to join Directorate of Technology and Operations based in Sengerema.

JOB SUMMARY:

Banking Operations Officer will be responsible for serving customers effectively, maintain competitive turnaround time and process transactions accurately. His/her efficiency and courtesy often reflects the Bank’s standard of service. He/she has to ensure that both front and back office operations are performed fast, accurately and friendly.

Reporting Line: Directly to Branch Finance Officer

Locations: Sengerema Mini Branch

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-

Guide prospective customers who come over the counter for inquiries.

Coordinate all counter activities while ensuring that quality service is provided to customers.
Receive Cash and Cheque deposits
Posting Transactions
Verify teller proof of cash and teller proof of cheques against actual documents by ticking and signing the printouts.
Scrutinize internal vouchers to ensure that they are properly drawn and authorized in line with the approval limits.
Handle Foreign Exchange Transactions
Cross sell Banks Products to Customers
Affixing photographs in new/continuation customer pass books
Correspond with Cards custodians on issues relating to ATM cards, check reports in order to solve customer complaints.
Any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor/BFO from time to time.
Comply with the Policies and standards, Local laws and Regulations, Controls and Procedures of the Bank.
Report Suspicious Transactions
Ensure you comply with Money Laundering Prevention as per Bank Policy, Know your Customer(KYC)/Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
Issue new passbooks and ID cards to new customers.

Scrutinizing and short casting customers passbooks before making payment on customer’s accounts

Computing and charging commissions, interest and all other bank charges on customers.

Fill delivery notes/registers for items moved from one office to another by post of dispatch.
Balancing teller’s cash at the closure of business daily.
Check and sign back-office entries raised by the respective clerks/tellers.
Prepare Bank reconciliation statement timely and accurately.
Reconcile and clear all suspended transactions
Filing/bundling records for safe keeping in the record rooms.

At least 1-3 year of relevant Banking experience

Working knowledge of Equinox Functionality

CREDIT OFFICERS , Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB)


Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Credit Officers (2 positions) to join Credit Team.

JOB SUMMARY

The Credit Officer will be responsible for appraising all types of loans, carrying out effective and efficient loan follow up/monitoring with a view to maintain a growing and quality loan portfolio. S/he should also be responsible for supervising the appraisal of applications as compiled by subordinates.

Reporting Line: To Credit Manager

Locations: Dar es Salaam, Mwanza

Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations

Salary: Commensurate to the Job Advertised

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-

Appraise credit applications for review by Branch Manager before submitting to Branch Credit Committee.
Advising loan applicants on fate of applications, terms and conditions of approvals.
Reviewing and consolidating reports and submitting consequential reports to Branch Manager.

Monitor repayments of disbursed loans and recommend to the Branch Manager appropriate recovery measures against defaulters.
Reviewing and classifying portfolio on weekly basis and submit the report to Branch Manager.

Attend any other duties as may be assigned by the Credit Manager.

Experience:  Experience of at least 2 years as a Credit Officer

Skills / Attributes: High level of integrity. Must be keen on details.

Excellent communication and report writing skills. Ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision. Personable and able to relate to people at all levels. Effective negotiation with customers
