Job Title - Hi5 Trainer
Hi5 Trainers work with youth (students) who are chosen to join the Jobortunity program, maintain a
professional relationship with the students, and act as a guide and advocate. The Hi5 Trainer role is to provide
training and support that enables students to be professional, responsible, have positive attitudes, deal with
conflict, and communicate effectively. Hi5 Trainers support students and represent Jobortunity in the
community, ensuring graduates of the Hi5 Career Development Course know how to present themselves, apply
for and keep a job, and are able to obtain fantastic jobs as cooks, waiters, office assistants, clerks, receptionists
and housekeepers in high standard companies in Tanzania.

Typical work activities
 Promote Jobortunity and Hi5 Training in Arusha, resulting in applications for the Hi5 Career
Development and English Language Courses.
 Respectfully conduct selection exercises and interviews with students in order to assess and review
their situation during the trainee selection process.
 Participate in training sessions and assist colleagues.
 Lead training sessions in professional work attitude using the Hi5 method.
 Offer ongoing guidance and coaching support to students.
 Recommend and participate in making decisions about the best course of action for a particular
student.
 Interact with a multidisciplinary team of trainers and supervisors.
 Participate in meetings with the team and management.
 Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
 Take responsibility for developing and implementing the Jobortunity approach in your daily work.
 Support the organisation in other fields when necessary.

Education Requirements and skills Education Requirement:
Ideally the candidates will have a bachelor’s degree with course work that includes some of the following:
sociology, psychology, social science, human growth and development, social welfare and methods of social
work. Successful graduates of the Hi5 Training who may not have a bachelor’s degree but have at least 3 years
of work experience and are shining examples of the Hi5 standard are encouraged to apply.

Job Title: Office Manager
The Office Manager plans, manages, and coordinates all of the Jobortunity campus activities in an efficient and
effective way in order to assist staff and students in achieving set targets. The Office Manager will acts as first
point of contact for drop-in visitors, email correspondence, and phone inquiries. The Office Manager will greet
visitors and be able to share the mission and vision of Jobortunity in a concise and appealing manner. The
Office Manager will manage the flow of information in and out of Jobortunity ensuring effective internal and
external communication, facility function, and financial management.

Summary of Responsibilities
 Promotes Jobortunity opportunities by creating and updating marketing materials.
 Promotes Jobortunity through social media and website updates.
 Responds to customer enquiries and needs.
 Researches potential service companies in need of quality employees for partnership and job

Organ:
The General Secretariat directs all the administrative and financial aspects of the Union's activities, including the implementation of the provisions of the administrative regulations on operational questions, the dissemination of information on telecommunication matters for operational and other purposes, the provision of legal advice to the Bureaux of the Union and the departments of the General Secretariat, logistic support to the Union's activities including conferences, the coordination of the work of the Union with other international organizations, the dissemination of information to the Member States and Sector Members, press, corporate and individual users of telecommunications and the general public. The General Secretariat is also responsible for the organization of world telecommunication exhibitions and forums.
Organization Unit:
The TELECOM Secretariat has responsibility for the planning, organization and execution of all ITU Telecom world and regional telecommunication exhibitions and associated forums which are of considerable assistance in keeping the Member States and Sector Members informed of the latest advances in telecommunication techniques and in publicizing the possibilities of applying telecommunication science and technology for the benefit of all Members of the Union including the developing countries. ITU Telecom also features other related activities.
 Duties / Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head, Sales and Client Relations Service of TELECOM, the incumbent performs the following duties:
  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients; establish a list of focal points for administrations and entities in assigned region(s) and engage with them to encourage event participation; identify and exploit new sales opportunities with existing and potential clients.
  • Organize meetings and presentations with potential clients to creatively promote and encourage their presence at ITU Telecom events.
  • Maintain client information and awareness (decision-making structures and processes, products and services, client news); manage client relation systems; update and monitor account records regularly. 
  • Provide ongoing support to clients as they advance through the sales process; determine potential problem areas; make solutions-oriented suggestions and resolve issues; follow-up as necessary for client satisfaction.
  • Check, acknowledge and process contracts for event participation, and ensure necessary internal liaison with Financial Resources Management Department (FRMD) and Legal Affairs Unit (LAU).
  • Draft texts and prepare graphics for reports, presentations, manuals and other documents; prepare periodic sales forecasts for forward planning; analyze and make suggestions for improved effectiveness & efficiency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from different teams for the enhancement and upkeep of various internal systems, databases, applications, promotional materials, etc.
  • Coordinate specific team activities as assigned, such as the event floorplan, sales agents, CRM, the young innovators competition, event award, etc.
  • Complete administrative work as required, such as preparing briefing reports; coordinate meetings; workplans, data entry, etc.

Qualifications required
Education:
University degree in international relations, business administration, event management or a related field OR education in a reputed college of advanced education, with a diploma of equivalent standard to that of a university degree in one of the fields above.
Experience:
At least one year of experience in the field of the post. Higher university degrees in related fields can be considered as a substitute for one year of working experience.
Languages:
Knowledge of one of the six official languages of the Union (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish) at advanced level and knowledge of a second official language at intermediate level. Knowledge of a third official language would be an advantage. (Under the provisions of Resolution No. 626 of the Council, a relaxation of the language requirements may be authorized in the case of candidates from developing countries: when candidates from such countries possess a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the Union, their applications may be taken into consideration.)
Competencies:
  • Working experience in the ICT industry would be an advantage.

    Community Services Officer – Tanzania

    DRC is looking for highly qualified, self-motivated Community Services Officer able to work with diverse teams of both national and international staff as well as local government authorities, UN agencies, I/NGOs and other partners.
    Background
    The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC will be operating as a new actor in Tanzania as part of the Burundian refugee response. The attempted coup in May of 2015 and the subsequent unrest has, as of October 7th 2015, displaced 105,542 Burundians to Tanzania, with a potential of displaced people anticipated up to 250,000 people. In line with the regional response plan to the Burundian refugee crisis, DRC Tanzania will implement projects under the protection, shelter and camp management sectors.
    Job Profile
    The Community Services Officer will be responsible for the implementation of community mobilization and community development activities in two refugee camps of Nduti and Mtendali. He/she will develop and maintain community participation mechanisms in camp, ensuring that the voices of men, women, boys, girls and groups with specific needs are heard and represented.
    Key Responsibilities
    General;
    Design, implement and supervise the camp management community services structure in two new refugee camps.
    In partnership with the Camp Manager, ensure the establishment of refugee committees.
    In conjunction with the Camp Manager, develop and facilitate the dissemination of information and key messages, and collect key insights on social, cultural and livelihoods related aspects of the population;
    Identify issues within the camp and propose and implement adequate, rapid solutions in conjunction with the camp manager.
    Work in close collaboration with refugee stakeholders (Community Leaders, Elders, Representative Committees…) to ensure their input and acceptance of camp management activities.
    Facilitate resolutions regarding the provision of humanitarian services.
    Ensure that AGDM and Protection principals are mainstreamed into work with committees and communities.
    Develop information materials for dissemination in conjunction with camp management.
    Complete weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.
    Team Management:
    Under the leadership of the Camp Manager, supervise community services assistants.
    Identify and design relevant and needed CCCM and other relevant trainings for DRC staff, as well as refugee incentive workers.
    Ensure work plans are created, timely weekly and monthly reporting is delivered and performance reviews are completed.
    Develop, support and manage a network of refugee incentive workers who will work under the daily management of Community Services Assistants.
    Identify gaps in staffing and hire staff accordingly.
    Accountability:
    Ensure that DRC’s accountability obligations are delegated and carried out in accordance with the HAP Standard for Humanitarian Accountability and Quality Management (ref. Programme Handbook Annex 15 and related tools).
    Work with the protection team to establish the complaints and feedback mechanism and ensure refugees use of the system is communicated to refugees.
    Coordination & Representation
    Develop and sustain good working relationships with camp population in order to be well positioned to help communicate views, needs and issues between stakeholders.
    Facilitate coordination between and amongst refugees and humanitarian actors/service providers and camp co-ordination (government).
    Act as an alternate co-chair for the CCCM working group at the camp level.
    Act as a focal point for community engagement and messaging from humanitarian agencies refugees;
    Participate in coordinating CCCM assessments and other joint or rapid assessments.

    The Legal Officer P2 in the Administration & Employment Law Branch (LEGA) is responsible for administrative matters and matters arising in connection with WFP’s personnel.
    Under the general supervision of a senior Legal Officer, LEGA, the Legal Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
    • Carry out research and provide advice on a variety of legal issues.
    • Prepare legal opinions, reports, memoranda and correspondence.
    • Draft a variety of legal documents, including legal motions/submissions, manuals, policies, agreements, contracts and resolutions, and study legal questions arising out of the interpretation or application of relevant rules, policies, conventions and agreements.

    Qualifications & Experience Required
    Education:

    Experience:
    • At least 3 years of postgraduate, progressively responsible experience as a legal advisor/officer, with a law firm or private-sector institution in international transactions and/or in an international organization (preferably the UN or a UN system organization);
    • Recent practicing experience is required;
    • Experience as a litigator or in dispute resolution is an asset.
    Technical Skills & Knowledge:

    Objectives

    With its Ten Years Strategy (TYS) for 2013-2022, the Bank has positioned itself as a partner of choice to support Africa in its development. The Bank has taken the leadership in infrastructure (NEPAD Infrastructure Program, Infrastructure Consortium for Africa) and is carrying out a number of initiatives in the Water Sector through its Water and Sanitation Department namely, the Rural Water and Sanitation Initiative (RWSSI) and the Multi-donor Water Partnership program (MDWPP). Since 2005, the African Development Bank is the trustee for the African Water Facility Special Fund (AWF). The AWF aims at supporting the implementation of the Africa Water Vision and the Framework for Action for 2025 adopted at the 2000 World Water Forum in The Hague. The objective of the African Water Facility is to i) Help reduce poverty and promote sustainable development by expanding Africa’s access to financial resources for the water and sanitation sector ; ii) Attract massive, appropriate and strategic investments and also for the development and management of sustainable water resources ; and iii) Strengthen enabling environment for water management to generate more investments.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Under the supervision of the Division Manager, the incumbent will:
    • Ensure the mainstreaming of gender issues at all stages of the project cycle, from planning through evaluation;
    • Collaborate with other staff in the Department to ensure the incorporation of gender issues in its work;
    • Participate in Working Groups and Peer Review to ensure that projects documents prepared by the Department adequately address gender issues;
    • Participate in operational missions and the drafting of project documents in order to promote the implementation of the Bank’s gender policy, ensure that women are consulted and enhance the level of gender analysis of program/project;
    • Support the inclusion of gender in all program/project activities especially gender balance in project staff teams, training, and beneficiaries;
    • Assess the potential gender impact of proposed projects; conduct or draft Terms of Reference for gender assessments and analysis and propose mitigating measures as required;
    • Work with Task Managers to develop innovative approaches to women in development (WID) stand-alone projects and projects with gender components;
    • Assist in developing indicators to monitor the gender impact of Bank supported projects;
    • Review on-going projects with regard to gender impact and propose remedial measures as appropriate;
    • Collect and make available to Regional Departments (RD) staff gender-disaggregated data and other gender-related information on each of these countries (for example in the form of country-level “Gender Profiles”);
    • Liaise with key gender-related NGOs, multilateral organizations and national institutions in countries served by the RD for purposes of information-sharing, networking and operational collaboration;
    • Initiate specific studies related to gender and development for the purpose of project formulation, supervision and post evaluation;
    • Ensure that Project Completion Reports specifically identify gender gaps and reflect gender related project success and learning experience;
    • Prepare and submit yearly reports on progress made in mainstreaming gender issues into the Bank’s operations;
    • Coordinate with Special Envoy on Gender Office and Gender and Social Monitoring Division on issues related to gender policy, capacity building and interagency collaboration;
    • Contribute to research and studies relevant to gender policy development and implementation and/or contribute to gender sensitization and skill building activities.
    • Follow-up on the implementation of the Bank’s Gender Strategy at the level of the water and sanitation projects

    Selection Criteria

    • A minimum of Master’s degree in Gender studies, economics, rural development, social development, social studies or related areas;
    • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Gender analysis, research and advocacy skills, conducting gender impact assessments and/or designing/implementing gender and development projects;
    • Demonstrable understanding of regional social issues, analysis and policy formulation; knowledge of the practices of major bilateral and multilateral partner development agencies in African countries is a must.
    • Ability to work independently and be creative and innovative;
    • Integrity and ability to work in teams;
    • Good listener with demonstrated ability to present and win support for ideas as well as make effective and timely decisions;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and/or French, and preferably with a working knowledge of the other language.
