Director Of Internal Audit And Investigation


Director Of Internal Audit And Investigation (HESLB SCALE 15.0)

Qualifications and Experience:
Holder of Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance;
Holder of CPA (T) or ACCA;
Holder of Certified Information Systems Auditor (ClSA) and/or Computer
Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs);
Holder of Masters Degree in Finance or Masters Degree in Business Administration
(Finance);
At least eiqht (08) years work experience in a similar Management position in a reputable Organization.

Duties and Responsibilities.
To advise the Executive Director on Policies relating to Internal Audit and Investigation Functions;
To oversee all matters related to Internal Audit and Investigation Functions;
To translate Policies relating to Internal Audit and Fraud Investigation Functions; :
To oversee forensic Audit Investigation on fraudulent transactions;
To establish smooth linkages and exchange of information relating to Internal
Audit and Investigation Functions between the Board and its Stakeholders;
To oversee implementation of previous Audit queries;
To review all papers and reports emanating from the Directorate;
To oversee timely preparation of divisional progress reports;
To formulate and oversee the implementation of Annual Risk Based Audit Work Plan;
To oversee Internal Audit functions of the Board;
To Co-ordinate External Auditing Functions;
To oversee Post Audit functions on the Board's transactions;
To oversee Investigation and advise the Board and Management on effectiveness of internal controls;
To review effectiveness of the existing Policies, Procedures and Regulations and advise the Board and Management accordingly;
To oversee routine and special Audits whenever necessary;
To advise the Board and Management on the soundness adequacy and efficacy of accounting and financial controls and ascertain the extent to which the Board's assets' are protected from losses arising from fraud, irregularities and corruption;

To evaluate compliance with the prescribed Plans, Policies, Procedures
Financial Regulations;
To oversee checking of the accuracy of Accounts and other data develop within the Board;
To put in place and regularly Review Operational Manuals of the Directorate;
To provide Strategic direction of the Directorate;
To put in place a Risk Register, Oversee Risk Assessment of the Board's operations and recommend appropriate corrective measures;
To put in place a mechanism for assessment of Quality Assurance in the operations of the Board;
To perform any other functions as may be directed by the Board or by the Executive Director.

Economic Strengtherning Technical Director


Plan is an international child - centered Development Organization whose mission is to achieve lasting improvements in the quality of life of deprived children through a process that unites people across cultures and adds meaning and value to their lives. Plan has been working in
Tanzania since 1991, supporting children and communities to gain better access to health, education, water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods and protection through five Country Programs. Plan works with children, their families and communities to implement programmes at grassroots level.
Plan International is seeking to recruit qualified applicants for the anticipated five-year $65 million USAID funded Caring for Children and Empowering Young People (C2EYP) project in Tanzania. This project will enable more Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) to access services for improving health, nutrition, education, protection, livelihoods and psychosocial wellbeing. ECONOMIC STRENGTHERNING TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Job Responsibilities:

The Economic Strengthening Technical Director will have responsibility for implementation of all activities associated with improving the economic stability of households caring for over and successful integration with other project interventions.

Qualifications and experience

Master's degree in social sciences or commerce, economics, business management and administration, or related field
At least 8 years of experience designing, implementing and managing household economic strengthening initiatives in/for developing countries.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government representatives, for profit private sector entities, local community organizations, donors and other stakeholder, particularly at the sub-national level.
Experience in leveraging public private partnerships.
Experience with USAID-funded projects (ideally, in a senior technical position) highly preferred.
Work experience in Tanzania highly preferred.

Dance Instructor, Technical Director and Artistic Director

Tumaini University Makumira has received a grant from the European Union for the project “Traditional Music and Dance Preservation and Promotion in Northern Tanzania” and now invites applications for the following part-time positions for the new Cultural Arts Centre (CAC):

1. Dance Instructor (15 hrs/week)

Dance Instructor Requirements:
1) Tanzanian preferred. Excellent knowledge of English and Kiswahili with strong oral and written communication skills.
2) Bachelor’s Degree in dance, music, performing arts preferred.
3) At least 2 years work experience in instructor role with arts organization, festival, or tourism related field. Work experience in East Africa and abroad preferred.
4) Strong organizational, people and time management skills
5) Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural work environment

Primary job responsibilities:
To provide dance instruction for the Cultural Arts Centre at Makumira, including:
1) Working with the artistic team to create multiple traditional dance performances per week at the new Cultural Arts Centre targeting international and local audiences. Several different shows will be developed and used in rotation.
2) Teaching, demonstrating, and choreographing various dances to the auditioned dancers to produce professional quality traditional dance performances and events for the Centre. Initially there will be a 2 month dance training, then auditions for the paid dancers with an additional 2 months of training and professional skills.
3) Assisting with additional duties as qualified and time allows.
(Note: it may be possible to be a dance instructor and a dancer in the troupe or for additional teaching opportunities through the Centre and/or University for highly qualified person.)

Primary job responsibilities:
To coordinate the performance technical needs for the Cultural Arts Centre at Makumira, including:
4) Working with the artistic team to create multiple traditional dance performances per week at the new Cultural Arts Centre targeting international and local audiences. Several different shows will be developed and used in rotation.
5) Designing, organizing and implementing all technical aspects (sound, lighting, stage needs) to produce professional quality traditional dance performances and events for the Centre. Equipment includes new state-of-the-art digital sound and lighting for 1,200 seat and 250 seat performance facilities, in addition to analogue systems for smaller venues and run out performances.
6) Overseeing maintenance of all technical equipment (sound, lighting, stage)
7) Running sound and lights for Centre performances

(Note: it may be possible to get additional teaching opportunities through the Centre and/or University for a highly qualified person.)

9) Coordinate and oversee the additional dance instructor(s) and technical director and auditioned dancers to produce professional quality traditional dance performances and events for the Centre.
10) Assist in the teaching and polishing of various dances and music to the auditioned dancers. Initially there will be a 2 month dance training, then auditions for the paid dancer troupe with an additional 2 months of training and professional skills courses.
11) Participate in the preparation of production proposals, artist recommendations, and skill development opportunities for artistic personnel.
12) Fostering and encouraging continued growth and development of artistic excellence within the Cultural Arts Centre.

• Responsible for all matters pertaining to examinations and Chief Advisor to the Executive Director in all matters concerning examinations.

24.4 CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR - RE-ADVERTIZED

24.4.1 REPORTS-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

24.4.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

• Heads the internal audit section.

• Conducts internal audit inspections and ensures adherence to the set financial policies and procedures.

• Advises the Executive Director on audit reports and queries.

• Advises the Executive Director on the soundness, adequacy and application of accounting and financial controls.

• Reviews the Board’s system of internal control from time to time and recommends to the Executive Director Improvements or modifications as he/she may see it appropriate.

• Identify area of public concern or ignorance and develop a strategy to correct the situation;

• Prepare and supervise the integrated marketing programme and strategy for PSPTB services particularly consultancy services through media, website and review it periodically;

• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned.

24.5.35 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (International Relations), Marketing, Economics, or its equivalent from recognized institution with at least five years working experience.
