The US Embassy is seeking an individual for the position of Administrative Assistant at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This is a full-time personal Services Contract position.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

This position is part of the Health Office at USAID/Tanzania. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support, including logistics, filing, and document tracking for the Health Office. This position supports programs, staff members and implementing partners. The Administrative Assistant (M) will provide the full range of administrative functions, including logistical, procurement tracking, information gathering including program and project documentation and storage in support of the Health Team's operational objectives and program areas under American Foreign Assistance Framework, Investing in People. Under the supervision of the Program & Operations
Officer, the M initiates administrative actions for team programs and activities and performs a variety of programmatic and administrative support duties. .

2.1 THE AGENCY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT (ADEM),

The Agency for the Development of Educational Management (ADEM), formerly known as MANTEP Institute, was established under the Executive Agencies Act. No. 30 of 1997 in 2001. ADEM was established for the aim of providing regular and systematized educational management and administration training for all categories of prospective and existing education managers and personnel. ADEM also is mandated to conduct research and consultancy on education management and administration so as to advise ministries dealing with education on the proper management of education institutions.

Holders of(NTALevel6), in Science, Diploma in Medical Lab. Technology, (DMLT), City& Guilds I &II (CGLT), Higher National Cert.(HNC) or its equivalent from a recognised University/institution.

Basic Duties
Carries out specified tasks connected with research, laboratory practical, students' projects, consultancy and services ; and assists in cleaning, repair and maintenance of laboratory or workshop facilities/equipment

5. POSITION: TECHNICIAN II (2 Positions) PGSS 5.1

Required qualifications

Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, NTA Level VI, Guilds I & II (CGLT), or Higher National Cert. (HNC) OR its Equivalent from a recognized Institution.

Basic Duties

To carry-out repair and maintenance of university facilities as per specialization

6. POSITION: GRADUATE NURSING OFFICER II (3 Positions) PGSS 4.1

Required qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or its equivalent from a recognised University/Institution and must be registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Tanganyika.

Required qualifications

Receives and keeps in proper custody all incoming bills and claims and maintains primary books of accounts

10. POSITION: ESTATES OFFICER II (2 Positions) PGSS 7.1

Required qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Building Economics, Land Management and Valuation, Civil, Electrical or Environmental Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.

Assist in the planning and management of Estate activities and services.

11. POSITION: PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS OFFICER II (3 positions) PGSS 9.1

Required qualifications
Holder of Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Materials Management, Supplies, Procurement or its equivalent from a recognized Institution PLUS a CSP and must registered by a recognized Procurement and Supplies Professional Board.

Basic Duties

Prepares purchase requisitions/orders upon approval by his/her supervisor

12. POSITION: JANITOR (3 positions) PGSS 5.1

Required qualifications

Diploma in Education or Home Economics or equivalent qualification preferably with past experience of not less than four years in related field

Maintains halls of residence; facilities; and records of residents.

13. POSITION: WARDEN (3 positions) PGSS 6.1 Required qualifications

Holders of a University degree with a bias in Educational Psychology/Divinity or Social Welfare; Advanced Diploma in Social Welfare or Community Development with three year’s relevant working experience in a similar position.

Manages students’ welfare including accommodation, catering, health, recreation etc

In addition, one must have experience of 3 years in a related field and 5 points from peer reviewed publications (from at least two sources including a minimum 35% from diversified journal publications).

Dent Degree from a recognized institution, a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

(a) Holders of Masters Degree in a relevant field with at least with a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum Degree GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the First Degree with a a minimum score of B+ in the relevant subject or its equivalent.

(b) Both Masters and Bachelors degrees must be obtained from recognized institutions.

(i) To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate programmes.
(ii) To conduct, publish/disseminate research results
(iii) To participate in research, consultancy and public service

5. POSITION: Tutorial Assistants: PUTS 1.1 - 1.3 ( 45 Positions)

Required qualifications

Holders of Bachelors Degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent from a recognized institution. Additionally, one must have scored a B+ in the relevant subjects or its equivalent.

Duties and responsibilities

(i) This is a training post. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Masters Degree Training programme.
(ii) To conduct tutorials , seminars and practical training;
(iii) To assist in research, consultancy and outreach activities;
(iv) To teach Certificates and Diploma Courses
