Unilever Tea Tanzania Limited is a plantation company operating under Unilever Tea, East Africa (UTEA). UTTL employs over 5,500 employees whose safety and security are very important to the business.
We are currently looking to hire Field Assistants, Assistant Accountant Payables, Procurement & Supplies Officer, Quality Assurance/World Class Manufacturing, Mechanical Technician, Clinical Officer, Registerred Nurses, Assistant Manager Production and Hospital Administrator for our Tanzania business. These roles will be field and office based and requires candidates with knowledge for the job.
Procurement and Supplies Officer - Local and overseas purchasing (1 post)
Technical Department (Supply Chain)
Reports to:Technical Operations Manager
Mufindi – Tanzania
Business context and main purpose of the job
1. Train and develop all staff in logistics and supplies matters
2. Responsible for tactical sourcing of indirect procurement goods and services locally
3. Maintain safe working atmosphere of the equipment and co-workers and contributes to hazards reporting process of central stores
4. Follow the procurement procedure and submit monthly reports of procurement and supplies
5. Implement SHEQ recommendations in all areas of compliance and drives BeSafE agenda at central stores
6. Interface with many roles in field operations, factories, Finance, Medical, Engineering, QA and SHE, Supply planning, Development projects
Main accountabilities
1. Integrating regional sourcing/local strategies with business, ensuring timely inputs to regional project development and OTIF execution of regional/local projects
2. Act as first point of contact of the business for issues/questions relating to local overseas procurement goods or services in assigned portfolio and the service from third party service providers for sourcing unit/business Unit
3. Work with users to analyze and collate informatioh regarding current requirements and future needs
4. Efficient, timely and transparent communication to internal customers and suppliers
5. Work with defined procurement procedures (ways of working) and adhere to the code of business principles at all times
6. Work in an effective, cohesive team environment (Ability to understand all areas of indirects Procurement
7. Supplier Relationship Management
8. Flexibility to Travel

1. Procurement insight
2. Competitive bidding and tendering
3. Supplier performance measurement and management
4. Contractual supplier engagement
5. Graduate in procurement and supplies
